Traditionally on Good Friday, Groningen city centre is all about flowers and plants during the annual flower market. This is the largest flower and plant market in the north of the Netherlands and this year takes place on 6 April.
The annual flower market, with over one hundred stands spread over the city centre, always draws about 100,000 visitors, many of which come from Germany. Everything that grows and flowers can be found: cut flowers, bulbs, houseplants, sowing seed, garden plants as well as garden articles.
